In order to provide cargo capacity on flights for free in order to transfer relief supplies to those dealing with the damage caused by the disastrous floods, Emirates SkyCargo has established an airbridge between Dubai and Pakistan. As of today (5 September), organisations based in the largest humanitarian hub in the world, International Humanitarian City (IHC), will have access to cargo space on all Emirates passenger flights to Pakistan. This will allow them to transport essential supplies, food, and other emergency relief items directly to the five airports of Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, and Sialkot.

The chairman and CEO of Emirates Group, Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, stated: “Emirates is strongly connected to and devoted to Pakistan. Since our initial trip to Karachi in 1985, we have continuously expanded the favourable air connections.
